Video: Spectra Aerospace & Defense showcases ground vehicle solutions at GVSETS 2025
August 13, 2025
Spectra’s Dan Eckiss highlighted three key innovations driving the future of ground vehicle systems.
At this year’s Ground Vehicle Systems Engineering and Technology Symposium (GVSETS), Dan Eckiss, Director of Business Development at Spectra Aerospace & Defense, demonstrated how our latest ruggedized technologies are transforming ground vehicle capabilities. From modular data acquisition systems that adapt to Army modernization efforts to high-speed data processors handling up to 100 gigabits of throughput, Spectra is delivering mission-critical solutions that meet the evolving demands of today’s tactical environments.
In this short video from the Spectra booth Aug. 12, Eckiss highlighted three key innovations driving the future of ground vehicle systems: our newest small modular data acquisition devices designed for flexible range instrumentation, the powerful Galleon HPR recorder with its adaptable architecture for high-speed data processing, and advanced 3D situational awareness video processing capabilities that enhance crew visibility and command control operations.
These technologies reflect Spectra’s commitment to engineering ruggedized systems that perform reliably in the most demanding environments — exactly what today’s modernizing ground vehicle programs require.

Hi, I’m Dan Eckiss from Spectra Aerospace and Defense. I’m here at GVSETS and I’d like to talk about some of the latest technologies we have for the ground vehicle market.
Modular Data Acquisition System We’ll start with our newest data acquisition system. This small modular device allows you to stack up IO configurations for whatever vehicle you need to integrate data acquisition into. It’s particularly applicable as the Army modernizes their ground ranges and troops show up with their own vehicles. These tiny devices can be integrated to provide full range instrumentation and stream real-time as well as encrypted data at rest for training range usage.
Galleon HPR Recorder Next, we have our newest data processor system, the Galleon HPR recorder. It’s designed with a modular architecture to allow you to adapt to whatever types of high-speed data systems need to be recorded, processed, and stored. This is particularly applicable as we electronically up-armor our newest ground tactical vehicles—up to 100 gigabits worth of data throughput with this particular unit.
3D Situational Awareness Video Processing On our display and video processing side, one of our most popular applications is 3D situational awareness video processing. We take streams from multiple ruggedized external video cameras, process those, and make them available to crews through cabin displays, handheld displays, smart displays, and even large area displays for command and control applications.
