The team will showcase Spectra’s complete product portfolio, including technologies from its Galleon Embedded Computing, CALCULEX and ArgonFDS divisions.

This August 20-21, Spectra Aerospace & Defense will have a strong presence at DALO Industry Days in Ballerup, Denmark, one of the Nordic region’s premier defense exhibitions. The event, hosted by the Danish Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organisation (DALO), draws representatives from across Europe and has evolved from a niche industry gathering into a must-attend exhibition for defense technology companies.

The DALO Industry Days offer a unique opportunity to facilitate dialogue between the defense industry, technical caseworkers and commanders from DALO, representatives from the Danish Defence and public authorities. The event also presents the opportunity to meet government representatives from many European countries and their defense and procurement agencies, while networking with other Danish and foreign companies with an interest in international defense agencies.

Growing opportunities in European defense
The timing couldn’t be more strategic. European nations are significantly ramping up their defense spending, with pledges to dedicate 5% of national budgets to defense capabilities. This increased investment reflects the growing security concerns across Europe, particularly in response to regional conflicts and emerging threats.

“European resilience is now quite strong, and they are feeling the tension of what’s going on in the conflict area,” says Lars Sørfang, Vice President of Sales at Galleon Embedded Computing. “People are ramping up their own defense in order to meet those threats.”

The defense spending surge isn’t limited to specific domains – it’s comprehensive across all sectors. Whether maritime, airborne or ground-based applications, European defense organizations are investing heavily in advanced technologies like rugged tactical servers and other specialized capabilities. This broad-based growth creates significant opportunities for companies like Spectra Aerospace & Defense that offer diverse product portfolios.

Spectra’s strategic presence
Spectra Aerospace & Defense will be represented by a three-person team at DALO: Sørfang; Ray Munoz, CEO at Spectra; and Erlend Møyland, the new CEO of Galleon Embedded Computing. The team will operate from their own tent in the exhibition’s unique outdoor format, which facilitates direct interaction with attendees in a more relaxed, approachable environment.

While the focus will be primarily on Galleon’s advanced solutions, the team will showcase Spectra’s complete product portfolio, including technologies from its CALCULEX and ArgonFDS divisions.

One of Spectra’s key objectives at DALO is expanding beyond established OEM partnerships. While strong relationships have been built with major original equipment manufacturers over the years, the company is focused on increasing direct engagement with end users – the government agencies, defense organizations and military personnel who ultimately rely on their technologies.

“We want end users, meaning the government or the defense or the military, to actually know our company name and what we do,” Sørfang says. “We want to tell them more about what Spectra has in our product portfolio that might be an advantage to the warfighters.”

DALO Industry Days represents more than just a trade-show appearance for Spectra Aerospace & Defense – it’s an opportunity to strengthen relationships with existing customers while building new connections with the decision-makers who shape defense technology requirements across Europe.
