Dr. Jaime Torres is the Vice President & General Manager of ArgonFDS. Jaime is a visionary and servant leader with 27 years of experience in various industries including power boating, mechanical and electromechanical security systems, power transmission, oil & gas, telecommunications equipment testing, bicycle component manufacturing, and continuous improvement consulting.
Prior to joining ArgonFDS, Jaime held executive positions of increasing breadth and responsibility in quality, operations, engineering, marketing, and business management with Yamaha Motor Corporation, Assa Abloy, Stanley Black & Decker, Rexnord, Dover Corporation, Trilithic, and SRAM. Jaime brings a broad experience in strategic planning and deployment, P&L management, business development, Lean/Six Sigma, process design and optimization, large-scale project management, new product development, market opportunity analysis, product strategy, and team building.
Born in Colombia, South America; Jaime earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana (Bogotá, Colombia). He also received a Master of Science degree in Industrial Engineering, an M.B.A degree, and a Ph.D. degree in Engineering Science from the University of Tennessee (Knoxville, TN). Additionally, he participated in the Leadership Development Program offered by the Center for Creative Leadership.
